About IMANI

At the age of nine…

Imani Pressley’s passion for music was ignited. Born in the state of North Carolina, and raised predominately in a non-denominational church, one could argue “soul” and the “true art of real music” was undoubtedly destined towards Imani’s signature sound. Since the age of nine, Imani has grown into being able to play over five instruments and is also known for singing, writing and engineering all of her music. After receiving her first Grammy nomination as a producer at the age of 19, Imani began to revisit her passion as an artist. Since doing so, she has opened for major artists such as Chris Brown, Bobby Valentino, Drake Bell and has performed at major events such as Art of Cool, Women’s Empowerment, and Hopscotch Festival just to name a few. She defines her purpose of being an artist and a producer as the ability to change and inspire future generations and more specifically, young women.
